Keynote Lecture: Thomas Ezard - Mathematical models and the natural world

Date and Theme: 18th March 2014, 'Evolution'

Lecture Summary: Dr Thomas Ezard is an evolutionary ecologist interested in how the age and phenotypic structure of communities and populations affect their ecological and evolutionary dynamics. He does this work by developing the interface of mathematical and statistical models. His lecture will focus on how mathematical models can increase understanding of the complexity of the natural world, highlighting how nature frequently adopts the most efficient strategy to growth, survival and reproduction.
