Turing @ Southampton

About Us

The University of Southampton became a Turing University Partner in 2018. In 2023 the Turing launched the Turing University Network of which Southampton became a member, providing us with opportunities to engage and collaborate both with the Institute and its broader networks. At present, the network has a membership of 65 universities from across the UK.

The international expertise of Southampton in AI and Data Science allows the University to undertake research that tackles some of the biggest challenges in science, society and the economy – applying this research to real-world problems and helping to make the UK the best place in the world for data science, AI research, collaboration and business.

Southampton has a community of researchers (Turing Fellows, former Turing Fellows, PhD students and ECRs) who contribute to new ideas, drive collaborative projects, secure external funding and provide research expertise. It also has a thriving ECR network who organise regular networking events giving ECRs an opportunity to share their research ideas, network and collaborate.

The Web Science Institute coordinates the University’s Turing-related activities including running engagement and cohort activities and sharing Turing opportunities and events.
