Southampton hosts a workshop on Official Statistics and Artificial Intelligence

On 18 September, members of Statistics Netherlands participated in a workshop on Official Statistics and Artificial Intelligence hosted by Turing at Southampton and Southampton Statistical Sciences Research Institute.

The workshop discussed the link, potential use and applications of Artificial Intelligence in the area of official statistics.

During the workshop, Professor Mark Spearing, President and Vice-Chancellor (interim) and Dr Tjark Tjin-A-Tsoi, Director General of Statistics Netherland, signed a Memorandum of Understanding. This agreement forges a stronger working partnership, building on the strong ties between Statistics Netherlands and the University, by facilitating academic exchanges and cooperation in teaching and research.
