Academics attend a Networking event and get the latest updates from the Turing at Southampton

The Networking event, held at the University of Southampton on 8 January, was an opportunity for academics to hear the latest updates from the Turing at Southampton team, and to find out how they can benefit from the University being a member of The Alan Turing Institute.

The session began with a welcome from Turing University Lead (TUL), Professor Peter Smith, followed by an introduction to the recently appointed Southampton Fellows. They will each lead a Turing research project and join the current cohort, most of whom were appointed in 2018. The attendees also met Joseph Early, a University of Southampton student who has joined the 2019/20 cohort of Turing Doctoral students, who undertake PhD's in a range of topics related to Data Science and Artificial Intelligence.
