Turing Presents - AI UK
09:00 - 18:00
24 - 25 March 2020
The Brewery, 52 Chiswell St, London EC1Y 4SD

Event details

After careful consideration, the Turing Institute have decided to postpone AI UK. Given public health concerns about the coronavirus we trust that you will understand the wish to prioritise the health and safety of the Turing community and the wider network. .

For the first time a dynamic, two-day showcase will see the Turing bring together all three of these goals in an unrivalled showcase featuring the very best of UK academic work in AI and machine learning (ML).

AI UK will convene leading thinkers, innovative businesses and specialist third-sector bodies, to:

  • Connect UK academics working in AI and ML with research users from across industry, commerce and government
  • Facilitate new AI collaborations
  • Showcase the UK’s state-of-the-art AI and ML

About the event

The event, in March 2020, will feature keynote presentations – in a variety of styles – from high-profile UK academics, inspiring industry leaders and policy-makers. This event will also include lively breakout panel sessions, thought-provoking roundtables and a vibrant exhibition space with the latest hands-on demos and tech.

The event is designed around the national AI research challenges identified by the Institute and the wider AI community. These challenges also reflect the Turing’s strategic priorities:

  • Safe and ethical AI
  • Diversity and bias
  • AI and the skills gap
  • Governance and regulation in AI
  • AI in healthcare and medical sciences
  • AI in security
  • AI in finance and economics
  • AI in science and humanities
  • AI and engineering
  • Robotics and autonomous systems

The first-draft programme will go live in November 2019. The aim of the event is to showcase the best of AI from the entire UK academic community.
