Disabled parking

Disabled bays are provided on all academic campuses for use by eligible University staff, students and visitors, and as close as possible to building entrances. In the case that a staff or student disabled permit holder regularly has issues finding a space near to their building entrance, we will  endeavour to make additional arrangements if necessary.

Staff and students who are blue badge holders should apply for a University of Southampton disabled parking permit to park on academic campuses and halls of residences. This will be issued on a complimentary basis.

Visiting disabled blue badge holders are welcome to park in any available bay on campus as long as they display a valid blue badge.

Staff who require a University disabled permit but are not council issued blue badge holders, should apply for a permit choosing the medical grounds option and send medical evidence to parking@soton.ac.uk. This should be in the form of a medical letter or a hospital appointment which outlines the condition and any recovery period if appropriate.

Students who require a University disabled permit but are not council issued blue badge holders, should apply for a permit choosing the medical grounds option and register with Enabling Services who will review any medical condition and inform us of the outcome.

University disabled bay permits are charged at the normal rate.
