International Foundation Year (progressing to undergraduate degree in management, humanities, arts and social sciences) | Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education achieving a Grade B (9) or 65% average with at least grade B (9) or 65% in subjects relevant to the chosen undergraduate course |
Engineering Foundation Year (progressing to undergraduate courses in engineering, physics, computer science and geophysics) | Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education, achieving a Grade B (9) or 65% average with at least grade B (9) or 65% in both maths and physics |
Science Foundation Year (progressing to undergraduate courses in biology, chemistry and other science-related courses) | Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education, achieving a Grade B (9) or 65% average with at least grade B (9) or 65% in both maths and a science subject Please note that this course does not progress to an undergraduate degree in medicine. |
To be considered for a place on one of our undergraduate (bachelors) degrees, you will need:
High grades in UK A levels |
Between 28 and 38 points in the International Baccalaureate (IB) |
A recognised foundation year programme |
Successful completion of first year of a recognised Kenyan university honours degree |
Masters programmes |
Bachelors degree awarded by a recognised Kenyan university or an equivalent professional qualification approved by the University UK 1st equivalent: 1st, or 70%, or GPA 3.4 |
PhD programmes |
Good grades in bachelors and masters degrees awarded by a recognised university, and a strong research proposal UK 1st equivalent: 1st, or 70%, or GPA 3.4 |
You will need to be able to demonstrate the required level of English language proficiency. The University can accept a KCSE grade B in English, combined with an English proficiency letter from a recognised university in place of an English Language Test. Getting involved in clubs and societies is a great way to meet other students from your country and from around the world. There are many societies run by the University's Students' Union (SUSU) for different interests, religions, sports and academic groups.
