International Foundation Year (progressing to undergraduate degree in management, humanities, arts and social sciences) | Secondary School Leaving Certificate, achieving a minimum overall grade of 4.0 out of 5.0 with 4.0 out of 5.0 in subjects relevant to the chosen undergraduate course |
Engineering Foundation Year (progressing to undergraduate courses in engineering, physics, computer science and geophysics) | Secondary School Leaving Certificate, achieving a minimum overall grade of 4.0 out of 5.0 with 4.0 out of 5.0 or 80% in maths and physics |
Science Foundation Year (progressing to undergraduate courses in biology, chemistry and other science-related courses) | Secondary School Leaving Certificate, achieving a minimum overall grade of 4.0 out of 5.0 with 4.0 out of 5.0 or 80% in maths and a science subject Please note that this course does not progress to an undergraduate degree in medicine. |
To be considered for a place on one of our undergraduate (bachelors) degrees, you will need:
Secondary School Leaving Certificate and successful completion of a recognised foundation programme |
Successful completion of at least one year of university study with good grades in Azerbaijan |
High grades in UK A levels |
Between 28 and 38 points in the International Baccalaureate (IB) |
Masters programmes |
High grades in the Bakalavr, Specialist Diploma or Magistr from a recognised university UK 1st degree equivalent: 4.75/5 |
PhD programmes | Good grades in bachelors or masters degree awarded by a recognised university, and a strong research proposal |

Getting involved in clubs and societies is a great way to meet other students from your country and from around the world. There are many societies run by the University's Students' Union (SUSU) for different interests, religions, sports and academic groups. Before coming here my friends were trying to persuade me to give up accounting and take easier modules. Nevertheless the way teachers deliver knowledge is comprehensive and easy.
