Foundation year entry requirements

International Foundation Year (progressing to undergraduate degree in management, humanities, arts and social sciences) Completion of the Brazilian Certificato de Ensino Medio, Diploma de Tecnico de Nivel Medio, Concurse Vestibular or Certificado de Conclusao de Segundo Grau, achieving at least 8 out of 10
Engineering Foundation Year (progressing to undergraduate courses in engineering, physics, computer science and geophysics) Completion of the Brazilian Certificate de Ensino Medio, Diploma de Tecnico de Nivel Medio, Concurso Vestibular or Certificato de Conclusao de Segundo Grau, achieving at least 8 out of 10, with 8 in both maths and physics
Science Foundation Year (progressing to undergraduate courses in biology, chemistry and other science-related courses) Completion of the Brazilian Certificate de Ensino Medio, Diploma de Tecnico de Nivel Medio, Concurso Vestibular or Certificado de Conclusao de Segundo Grau, achieving at least 8 out of 10, with 8 in both maths and a science subject

Please note that this course does not progress to an undergraduate degree in medicine.

 

Undergraduate entry requirements

To be considered for a place on one of our undergraduate (bachelors) degrees, you will need:

High grades in UK A levels
Between 28 and 38 points in the International Baccalaureate (IB)

 

Postgraduate entry requirements

Masters programmes

Brazilian Bacharel or Licenciado (4 or more years degree) or an equivalent professional qualification approved by the University with an overall qualification of at least 7.0 out of 10.00

UK 1st degree equivalent: 8.5 out of 10
UK 2.1 degree equivalent: 7.5 out of 10

PhD programmes

An undergraduate degree and a Mestrado with an overall qualification of at least 7.0 out of 10.00, and a strong research proposal

UK 1st degree equivalent: 8.5 out of 10
UK 2.1 degree equivalent: 7.5 out of 10

 

English language entry requirements

  The Brazilian student community

We are pleased to welcome students from Brazil to the University each year. In 2016/17 we have 34 Brazilian students studying with us.

Student-run clubs and societies

Getting involved in clubs and societies is a great way to meet other students from your country and from around the world. There are many societies run by the University's Students' Union (SUSU) for different interests, religions, sports and academic groups.
