Entry requirements

This information is for general guidance only; entry requirements vary for different courses. For more specific details, please visit the relevant course web page or contact the admissions office for your chosen subject area.

Foundation year entry requirements 

International Foundation Year (progressing to undergraduate degree in management, humanities, arts and social sciences) Venezuelan Senior High School Certificate, achieving an average overall grade of 13/20
Engineering Foundation Year (progressing to undergraduate courses in engineering, physics, computer science, mathematics and geophysics) Venezuelan Senior High School Certificate, achieving an average overall grade of 16/20 overall with 18/20 in maths
Science Foundation Year (progressing to undergraduate courses in biology, chemistry and other science-related courses) Venezuelan Senior High School Certificate, achieving an average overall grade of 16/20 overall with 18/20 in maths or a science subject 

Please note that this course does not progress to an undergraduate degree in medicine. 

Undergraduate entry requirements

To be considered for a place on one of our undergraduate (bachelors) degrees, you will need:

High grades in UK A levels 
Between 28 and 38 points in the International Baccalaureate (IB) 

Postgraduate entry requirements

Masters programmes Venezuelan Licenciatura (4 years or more) from a recognised university or an equivalent professional qualification approved by the University with grades of 7 out of 9 or 14/20 (70%)
PhD programmes Good grades in bachelors and masters degrees awarded by a recognised university, and a strong research proposal

English language entry requirements

You will need to be able to demonstrate the required level of English language proficiency. Find out more about our English language requirements and support

The Venezuelan student community

We are pleased to welcome students from Venezuela to the University each year. In 2016/17 we have 4 Venezuelan students studying with us.

Student-run clubs and societies

Getting involved in clubs and societies is a great way to meet other students from your country and from around the world. There are many societies run by the University's Students' Union (SUSU) for different interests, religions, sports and academic groups.
