Eric Hamdan is an Alumni at the Institute of Sound and Vibration Research (ISVR) at the University of Southampton.

Eric graduated with honours with a bachelors degree in Interdisciplinary Computing and the Arts - Music (ICAM) from the University of California San Diego (UCSD) in 2011. In the same year he started work at the Qualcomm Institute, the UCSD division of the California Institute for Telecommunications and Information Technology (Calit2). While at the Qualcomm Institute, Eric worked with the Sonic Arts Research and Development Group on cutting edge spatial audio technologies with industry and academic partners.

In late 2016, Eric joined the VAAE team and is currently pursuing a PhD at the ISVR under the supervision of Dr. Filippo Maria Fazi and Dr. Keith Holland. His project is focused on novel transaural loudspeaker systems.

Research interests

Eric's general research interests include audio technology, acoustics, psychoacoustics and signal processing with special interest in transaural systems, spatial audio, binaural audio, sound field control and loudspeaker arrays.

Research project(s)

Theoretical Advances in Multichannel Crosstalk Cancellation Systems
