The Office for National Statistics (ONS) is the executive office of the UK Statistics Authority, a non-ministerial department that reports directly to Parliament. The ONS is responsible for the production of a wide range of economic, social and health statistics, from a range of sources including information collected at birth and death registrations.
For the IMPROVE survey ONS will identify a sample of deaths from their database and send out the VOICES questionnaire to the people who registered those deaths. This will be done in accordance with the Data Protection Act.
