Welcome events at Southampton

You’ve arrived! Welcome to the University of Southampton and the beginning of your student life.
Our schedule of Welcome events is a little different this year with the challenges posed by the ongoing pandemic, but we've worked hard to make sure you're welcomed into our community.
This site will connect you to all the different activities on offer to you as part of our Welcome programme and beyond.

Finding your way around

Our campuses will become a core part of your University experience, with places to study, lecture rooms and social spaces. Things might look a little different right now, but getting to know your way around will help you immerse yourself into your new student life.
We're lucky to be located near two amazing cities; Southampton and Winchester. Take some time to get to know everything they have to offer too.

Meeting people and making friends

During your time here at Southampton you'll meet a range of people who will impact your university experience. It might seem difficult to meet people right now, but with our Students' Union offering over 300 clubs and societies and a variety of hosted events, there'll be hundreds of ways to socialise and make lasting connections.

The majority of our society events can be found on the Students' Union (SUSU) events page, but we've prepared a table of other events that you might be interested in below.
