Professor Christopher J. Berry will be visiting Winchester School of Art in November.
Christopher J. Berry is Professor Emeritus and Honorary Professorial Research Fellow at the University of Glasgow, UK. He is an elected Fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh. Professor Berry works at the interface between politics, history and philosophy and has written many books and papers, on Luxury and on aspects of the Scottish Enlightenment.
In the field of luxury studies Professor Berry's seminal book The Idea of Luxury: A Conceptual and Historical Investigation (Cambridge: 1994) is the key text for scholars concerned with the meanings and ramifications of the idea of luxury.
