Published: 16 April 2015

Dr Sunil Maghani and WSA PhD student Chen-Chu Weng have an interview published on the on the Theory, Culture & Society website with Peng Yu, whose article, ‘Zones of Indeterminacy: Art, Body and Politics in Daoist Thought’.

Cheng-Chu is a PhD candidate at WSA. Her background is in painting and she is currently undertaking studio-based research concerned with shadows, the body and space.

Her interests connect well with Peng Yu, whose article foregrounds the concept of Xu from Zhuangzi’s philosophical writings, and relates to questions about the political body.

The article makes a particular connection between the body and liubai painting, which refers to the idea of ‘leaving blankness', associated with Chinese ink painting.
