Senior Teaching Fellow Fashion Design, Programme Leader Fashion Design (Dalian)

Mr Fedrick Wong is the programme leader fashion design and senior teaching fellow at the collaborative programme with Dalian Polytechnic University-Southampton International College (DPU-SIC), China.
Fedrick Wong has a thorough understanding of Fashion Design from his education at the first private Canadian international design school in Malaysia, Nottingham Trent University, UMIST-MMU, University of Huddersfield, Birmingham City University and also through his family fashion manufacturing business.
He has more than 20 years of teaching experience in China and extensive experience in negotiating and leading many local and international industry and ‘live’ brief projects i.e.
- Sustainable Qipao Project- working with Canadian designer, Alia Juma who directed and mentored the students from design to final production.
- Italian REDA Fabric Sustainable project – dead stock textiles were upcycled into fashion products and exhibited at 798 Beijing Art District.
- Italian Lotto Sportswear Deconstruction Wear- past seasons fashion wear were deconstructed into functional fashion.
- USA Crocs – Crocs shoes were redesigned into art pieces and exhibited in Shanghai.
- Miss World China- students designed and make an outfit for the Beijing finalists.
- Durex Aids Awareness Campaign- sponsored condoms were made into wearable fashion art.
- China Next Top Model - students were filmed over a week, designing and making outfit for models.
- Fashion & Architecture- sponsored by Raffles City Mall Beijing, students designed fashion inspired by the architecture of the mall.
