Reebok commission painting by WSA graduate

Published: 1 November 2008

Winchester School of Art BA Fine Art graduate, Ian Cook has been making national headlines recently for his painting of Lewis Hamilton.

His unique style, known as 'Auto Drawing' involved Cook using remote-controlled cars instead of paint brushes to apply colour to the canvas. Over fifty cars were used to create the eight-metre high, 12 metre-wide portrait of the 2008 Formula One champion. The work was commissioned by Reebok to celebrate Lewis Hamilton's success over the last season and was unveiled at Tower Bridge.
