Published: 21 July 2009

Recent WSA graduates have found success in the world of business, with many securing creative posts in their ideal fields. Katey Adams, a Textile Print student who graduated in 2008 is currently working as a full-time design assistant for a London-based print supplier.

She had worked on a number of placements before securing this role, which also started as a 6-week placement. Katey now works for young brands such as TopShop, New Look and Dorothy Perkins, and describes it as her "dream job". Follow this link to see one of Katey's current designs for Topshop. She also has work due out in New Look and River Island soon.

Another Textiles, Fashion and Fibre graduate will soon be heading off to New York to work with Rachel Rowberry's company, Collection 18. Rachel is also a graduate of WSA herself who specifically recruits WSA graduates in her studios, visiting the Winchester-based degree show and industry exhibition New Designers each year to select the cream of the crop. Her company specialises in scarves for designer brands and private label collections.

The first cohort of Graphic Arts finalists have had their share of business experience also, with work experience at companies including Harpers and Queen, the Guardian, YCN, Elle Magazine and the Telegraph.
