Interested in postgraduate study at Winchester School of Art?

Published: 5 March 2014

The University of Southampton is investing in postgraduate education for talented students from the UK and European Union. We are offering 20 scholarships of £5,000 to UK and EU students who have been offered a place on a full-time taught masters programme at Winchester School of Art, starting in autumn 2014. There are 11 MA programmes to choose from ranging from Fashion Design to Fine Art.

Many students from around the world already enrol on these programmes but the University wishes to encourage more UK and EU students to join them. A recent article in the Independent newspaper claimed that the UK’s economic performance could suffer unless more people from the UK and EU stay in education after their bachelors degree to take postgraduate qualifications.

The scholarships will be in the form of a £2,000 fee reduction and a £3,000 living allowance. This will be paid in addition to the University of Southampton alumni discount and WSA progression scholarship, if relevant. To be considered for one of the 20 competitive awards, you need to have achieved a 2.1 grade in your bachelors degree and submit a personal statement. The deadline for applications is 31 July 2014.
