Book Launch for After Constructivism by Brandon Taylor

Published: 20 October 2014

To celebrate the publication of his new book, we are very pleased that Brandon Taylor will join us on 30 October 2014 at The Winchester Gallery to deliver an illustrated lecture entitled “Material and Meaning in Modern Art”.

Professor Emeritus Taylor will talk about the three-way relations between material, making and meaning in one important branch of modern pictorial and sculptural art, roughly that defined by terms such as 'construction', 'composition' and 'structure'; including examples from his new book After Constructivism (Yale University Press, 2014). Please join us at 4:30pm on Thursday, 30 October 2014 for Professor Taylor’s talk, with drinks reception to follow at 6:00pm.

Brandon Taylor is Professor Emeritus in History of Art at Southampton University and Tutor in History and Theory of Art, Ruskin School of Art, University of Oxford
