Arts Funding Workshop

In July 2017 Dr Dan Ashton (Winchester School of Art) concluded his Winchester School of Art Strategic Research Fund project on arts funding with a one day workshop. The project examined approaches to arts funding in the UK and included a series of research visits and interviews with arts organisations in the South West of England.

The workshop brought together colleagues from Southampton’s five Arts Council England National Portfolio Organisations with invited speakers from Nesta, LOW PROFILE, and the University of Manchester. A range of topics including funding policy, working conditions in the arts, crowdfunding, and the funding application process were discussed.
