Recent graduate of WSA's BA Games Design & Art programme, Bobbi Allsop, working with educational games company Manga High, has been nominated for a prestigious gaming award.

Their game, Deepest Ocean, has been included in the shortlist for one of this year's TIGA Awards, in the 'Educational Games' category.

The game asks the player to catch fish from their submarine, but to do so using mathematical inequalities. Bobbi Allsop's design, and a simple interface, makes for a weirdly addictive game which will do a lot to promote this aspect of maths.

As it says on their website, 'Mangahigh.com is one of the world’s first Games-Based Learning sites, where students learn Mathematics via purpose-built casual games that balance fun and learning.'

TIGA is the network for games developers and digital publishers and the trade association representing the video games industry. They aim to strengthen the games development and digital publishing sector, and give out annual awards to games which exemplify this mission.
