Event details

The Camera Lucida Variations

Overview:

David Ward has made numerous performances, including collaborations with choreographers, composers and other artists. This performance lecture draws on the history of one postcard image in relation to Ward’s work since 1973 and relates to light, photography, painting, poetry and performance itself. It includes projected images, readings, the playing of sound recordings, choreographed movement and will also respond to aspects of the architecture of the space in which it takes place. It focuses on selected variations of a piece of music, a poem and a painting and treats the space of the event as a “camera lucida”.
