Event details

Justine Randall studied textiles at West Surrey College of Art & Design and then tapestry in the painting school at the RCA. On leaving there she was involved in several group shows: ‘Woven Image’, Contemporary British Tapestry, at the Barbican Centre and ‘New British Textile Art’ Touring Tokyo & Tamagawa as well as her show at Winchester Gallery. After following a career in graphic, she returned to her love of textiles in 2009. Her work celebrates colour and landscape and the transformation that occurs due to changes in light, seasons and events. Tapestry is ideal for expressing colour relationships as it is a tactile, responsive and textural medium. Her most recent tapestry series concentrates on the rural landscape of Wiltshire but she is also working on a series about urban landscape as well as a study of the Sky at night. Her Wiltshire Landscape tapestries were shortlisted for the Cordis Prize for Tapestry 2016 and were shown at CONVERGE in the Scottish National Gallery January-February 2016. She recently showed in Paris, Copenhagen, London and in Germany.
