Women in Academia call for creative entries Event

Women in Science Engineering and Technology (WiSET) in 2018 welcomed humanities and became WiSET+. To celebrate this, and the significant role women play in research and teaching at University of Southampton, WiSET+, working in partnership with John Hansard Gallery, Winchester School of Art and the intersectionalities: identities – politics – cultures research group (iPIC)are inviting creative responses to the theme ‘women in academia’.

You may wish to highlight the work of a female colleague, tutor or student, or a significant role model from history. You can explore the theme in any way you wish and can be in any medium (painting, drawing, photography, sculpture, poetry, film, textiles, clay, digital etc.) of any size. Anyone can take part; any age or gender, and you do not have to work at the University of Southampton or be in an academic role to submit an entry.

Entries will be exhibited at John Hansard Gallery and The Winchester Gallery at Winchester School of Art during Summer 2019.  All entrants will be invited to the opening of the exhibition and awards presentation.

If you would like to submit work, please complete the online ‘intention to submit’ form by the 5th. April 2019. Materials bursaries available by discussion.
