Event details

As part of a new project on the future of toys in a postdigital media culture, this talk will ask what the implications and possibilities are for rethinking the history, anthropology and ethology of technoculture with toys rather than tools placed centre stage. How might a critical attention to playful objects open up ideas about use and instrumentality, embodiment and excess, the machinic and the imaginative, the material and the semiotic, communication and nonsense?
