The Undergraduate student exchange module is an optional core module for second year BA (hons) Fine Art, BA (Hons) Graphic Arts and BA (Hons) Fashion and Textile Design Students.
There are a number of international insitutions that Winchester School of Art has formal Bilateral Agreements with (please see the PDF document in the useful downloads section). There are over thirty institutions across Europe offering a diverse range of cultural experiences. If you wish to venture further why not try Universidad de Monterray in Mexico, Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) in New York, Ontario College of Art and Design in Canada or ANU Colleges of Arts & Sciences in Australia.
The student exchange module offers students a valuable opportunity to experience education and creativity in a different country. Studying abroad as part of your degree programme adds depth and invaluable employability skills to your experience whilst at university. The undergraduate curriculm at WSA has been specifically designed to incorporate a semester abroad in the second semester of the second year. This is not an 'add-on', rather forms forms part of your mainstream study.
The aim of this module is not to produce highly resolved pieces of work but instead advance increasingly confident, independent experimentation based on focused, context informed, thinking in readiness for level 3.
