Sophie is a Professor in Information Technology Law and Data Governance. She is Director of the Institute for Law and the Web (ILAWs), a member of the Southampton Cybersecurity Centre of Excellence, and a Senior Privacy Counsel at Immuta. Her research interests are in Information Technology law, particularly data protection, privacy, information security, anonymisation, intermediary liability and the impact of traditional bodies of law and fundamental rights and liberties upon Internet regulation.
