iClic and the Web Science Centre for Doctoral Training host a day of presentations and discussions about the new General Data Protection Regulation

The conference, hosted by Dr Sophie Stalla-Bourdillion from iClic, and Gefion Thuermer from the Centre for Doctoral Training, took place at the University of Southampton on 25th May, the day the new GDPR came into force.

There was attendance from a range of students, academics and politicians as well as industry representatives to debate this new regulation. A keynote was delivered by Julia Reda, a polititian and Member of the European Parliament, as well as two panel sessions to discuss 'why an ePrivacy regulation' and 'what about the practical implications of the ePrivacy regulation'. Much discussion took place over the course of the day with an very engaged audience.
