Dr Sami Kanza has been recognised in the annual Vice-Chancellor Awards for her contributions to the University's ‘Triple Helix’ strategy.

Her involvement with running networks, supervising a Knowledge Transfer Partnership, creating training courses/material as part of the network, and building on her PhD research encompasses all three links of the Triple Helix approach; research, education, knowledge exchange and enterprise (KEE). About her award, Sami said: “I was absolutely delighted to receive the VC award for bringing the triple helix to life! I have had a blast running the AI 4 Scientific Discovery Network for the last 4 years and this award is the icing on the cake”

Sami graduated in 2018 with a PhD in Computer Science and Chemistry and is a Senior Enterprise Fellow coordinating the AI 4 Scientific Discovery Network in Southampton, and the Future Blood Testing Network in Reading. She was supervised by Professors Nick Gibbins and Jeremy Frey and now works in the Frey Research Group at Southampton.

The Vice-Chancellor Awards are given annually to celebrate the work of our staff whose creativity, passion and exceptional skills bring our strategy to life.
