Following on from the WSI Distinguished Lecture on Big Data, we would like to invite you to participate in our next event, the 2015 Web Science Research Sandpit (23rd March - 24th April 2015) which will focus on research and innovation in the Web, Internet and Digital Economy.
As supporters of the DTC you are invited to nominate a research question that can be addressed by collecting and analysing data to create new understanding of an issue that your business faces, or by undertaking some horizon scanning to report on the latest capabilities in an emerging area of opportunity.
The research sandpit is being held to
- answer questions and generate insight on issues relevant to the Web, Internet and Digital Economy
- build relationships between Web Science partners
- meet students and trainee researchers and influence their future research directions and careers
How to Participate
Please send us a title or short outline of your research idea by Monday 9th February. Further details will be sent closer to the event when all the research activities have been allocated.
- Monday 23rd March: Launch of the Research Sandpit with keynote and networking opportunity with our students and staff.
- You are welcome to meet up with your team during the month, to advise or steer
- Friday 24th April: Presentations from Sandpit projects, with keynotes.
All the above activities will take place on the University of Southampton campus.
