Following on from the success of the WSI Conversation Space held in October, we are running another event in December. PhD students Jo Dixon and Frode Hegland are hosting a group discussion of what literacy is to you and why it is important to keep developing and deepening your literacy. Is literacy simply ‘Hovv Yov Ovght to Hold Your Penne” as a guide from 1611 described it, is it ‘How to hold your mouse’ or is it more than that? What do different levels of literacies mean for a democracy? Should we strive to make us all as literate as possible - or is that an elitist goal?
