The Southampton Small Business Clinic (SBC) is run by staff and students from The Law School at the University of Southampton and is a fantastic opportunity for our undergraduates to develop commercial awareness . It is supported by an experienced entrepreneur and investor, Renold Tang, as well as by the local law firm Coffin Mew (Charlotte Allery a solicitor in the Employment team and James Kitching in the Corporate team), who all offer free advice on how to start and run a business in the UK. The SBC supports all staff, current students and alumni who have started their business, or have a business idea which can be translated into a market place.
The SBC is led by Professor Sophie Stalla-Bourdillon Professor in Information Technology Law and Data Governance within The Southampton Law School and Consultant, Renold Tang, a successful entrepreneur with in depth national and international experience in several industrial sectors.
By attending SBC clinics and seminars, you can receive professional advice on a range of issues related to start up process, budgetary controls, statutory audits, corporate legal affairs, etc. Importantly , we can help you to answer critical business questions at an early stage. These include:
•Do you have a viable business idea
