Research Groups

The WSI is informed by activities taking place in research groups across the University of Southampton. These include:

Web and Internet Science (WAIS) group

An interdisciplinary team of people who have dedicated their efforts to better understand the origin, evolution and growth of the World Wide Web and the Internet.

Work Futures Research Centre

The Work Future Research Centre (WFRC) is one of the University of Southampton’s Strategic Research Groups (USRGs) which provides an interdisciplinary home for the wide range of work-related research being conducted across the University.

Digital Humanities

sotonDH is the hub for Digital Humanities research, teaching and enterprise at the University of Southampton. It include researchers from across the University and industrial partners. sotonDH research and research-informed teaching are focused on interdisciplinary collaborations crossing the humanities/science spectrum.

Institute for Complex Systems Simulation

The Institute brings together world-class simulation modelling research activities from across the University of Southampton and hosts Southampton's Doctoral Training Center (DTC) in Complex Systems Simulation, running a doctoral training programme that is the first of its kind in the UK.
