Intro

What is Intro

'Intro' is a free app that removes the barriers to building new relationships. Whether it’s two students wanting to add each other on Facebook, or a recruiter looking to onboard a prospective graduate, Intro revolutionises the way they connect online. The startup has been launched by two student entrepreneurs from the south coast and is based in the Future Worlds Accelerator.

Who was it created by?

It was developed by students Tom Phipps (University of Southampton) and Max Beech (University of Exeter).

How does it work?

The application uses the latest smartphone near field communication technology to instantly exchange social links, whilst ensuring that data is protected and secure.

Intro compiles users’ social media and contact details into two manageable profiles – one for their social life and one for more professional environments and has been designed to use a combination of Bluetooth Classic, Bluetooth Low Energy, Wi-Fi and ultrasonic sound to make connecting rapid and seamless.

Why would you use it?

“Intro removes the barriers to building new relationships,” co-founder and Southampton Masters student Tom Phipps explains. “Whether it’s two students wanting to add each other on Facebook, or a recruiter looking to onboard a prospective graduate, Intro revolutionises the way they connect online. Sharing profiles and contact information has never been easier.

How can I get it?

Intro is available to download now from the App Store  or  Google Play
