And that is precisely what peer review is for, and why it is essential
to maintain and mark the quality of the research literature: Let that
literature be liberated from the access-barriers of paper, and from the
access-barriers of toll-booths, but not from the access-barriers of peer
review, for that's what sifts the wheat from the chaff, and signposts it
for us all.
