Don't try to print alone for the first time - ask someone who has done it before for tips as mistakes are costly and logged by the print server. There are so many settings in the driver you can get confused. Make sure your application knows the paper size. You can hand-feed A3/A4 test sheets. If in doubt ask Jon Hallet or Kirk. Don’t adjust any settings on the printer!
Width is 36 inches - minus about 1" margins. Length is almost anything! Please adjust posters for sideways printing or load a 24” wide roll, to make the most of the paper.
Due to the price of ink and paper we need to charge £20 for a 1mx1m poster on heavy coated paper.
Conference posters can be printed with a charge code (emailed to Kirk).
Ink costs 316/set - lasts approx. 90m so cost depends on paper used.
There is a postscript driver for the printer, which you'll need under Windows.
Local Copy here – but please check
HP Site for updates
If you have a setup problem a last resort is print to a ps file then ftp it to rolf (simply put it – then go and watch it print).
To install the driver for direct printing you have to make a new lpr LOCAL printer pointing to rolf-server.
