Again is woken by realtime clock. Stores data from probes and sensors. Sends data either to ref station via radio modem or if that fails, via SMS to southampton. Opens a channel for ref station to get DGPS files. only 200 microamps when sleeping.

radio modems were ordered and installed running at 466MHz, 500mW. These also had a certain amount of built-in error correction.

To avoid an unreliable wake-up command system systems run autonomously according to a time schedule
