Alumni Email Service - Frequently Asked Questions
Following valuable feedback from alumni, consultation with students, and an internal review, we are pleased to share that alumni email accounts will not close at the end of September 2025.
The original decision to withdraw the service was based on low levels of active use and concerns about safeguarding personal data and protecting the University's cyber security. However, the proposal caused some concern.
We are launching a two-year pilot based on a new opt-in service, starting in Sept 2025.
In these pages, you'll find answers to some of the most common questions reguarding this change. We have split the sections into user groups so please identify your group and click the link to that page:
- Current students (students who graduate or leave after 1st September 2025)
- Alumni who graduated or left the University between 1st January 2025 and 31st July 2025
- Existing alumni email account holders , who graduated or left the University between 2013 and 31st December 2024
