Postgraduate Taught Students
Career Destinations is here to help Postgraduate Taught students throughout their time at Southampton and beyond.
Full time Postgraduate Taught courses run from September to September, and Autumn (October – December) is when large corporate and public sector employers often recruit for their annual graduate / postgraduate intake, to start the following September.
Many closing dates and opportunities to meet employers at events on campus also take place at this time.
This means that Postgraduate Taught students need to start their career planning strategies early in their courses to maximise their employment opportunities.
With your increased qualifications you unlock more avenues of opportunity. As well as a strong academic record, employers will also expect you to have developed skills such as communication, time management, analytical and many more. You will therefore need to identify and market your additional skills to employers.
