What is a placement or Internship?
- Internship is a phrase used within a company to refer to a type of paid placement opportunity, a more generic term is ‘Work Experience’
- Work experience can be gained in variety of ways, through short or long-term placements & internships, vacation or summer work, working holidays & working abroad.
- Unpaid placements come under the term ‘voluntary work’
Why complete a placement?
- Stand out from the Crowd - in an ever increasing competitive market to stand out a good degree is essential, but it is not enough.
- Build up skills - work experience is necessary for many career options to give the evidence that you are genuinely motivated and help you to build up the skills required to pursue your desired career.
