Southampton alumnus Justin Urquhart Stewart joins students for lunch

Students and staff were joined by Southampton alumnus and financial commentator Justin Urquhart Stewart, for an informal lunch as part of a competition open to our second year undergraduates.

The event was opened by Deputy Head of School Professor Julia Bennell who gave an introduction to Justin and thanked him for his continued support of the Business School. In addition to his support of research within risk and finance, Justin generously sponsors a competition for Business School 2nd year undergraduates which gives them the chance to win a £1000 scholarship for their final year of study and a chance to visit Justin and his colleagues at his company 7 Investment Management (7IM) in London.

Students commented on how insightful and entertaining Justin is, giving his insights into economic and political affairs, beyond what we usually see in the media. Students were also able to ask Justin questions for Financial Times articles they are writing for the competition and were also able to gain inspiration for their dissertations.
