LIN Shihan successfully completed 1- year work placement at Confucius Institute, University of Southampton
Shihan majored in Chinese Language and Literature in her undergraduate years. Now she is a postgraduate student in Beijing Normal University for her Master's degree, majoring in Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages. Shihan joined CI University of Southampton as a volunteer Chinese teacher in September, 2017. She has been a teaching assistant in Bohunt School, Liphook for half a year. Then she continued her work in Confucius Institute at University during the rest of the term. Her duties include:
Invigilating HSK tests
Setting up Wechat public account of CI
Participating other events organized by CI
Taking photos for language and culture events
Making leaflets for events and advertisements
Writing news about CI and submitting to HANBAN
Delivering workshops in primary and secondary schools
Collecting and sorting resources about CI and Chinese teaching
Assisting in Chinese teaching at Bohunt School Confucius Classroom
Assisting in the research on Chinese teacher professional development
Preparing and teaching the calligraphy course for CI ‘We♥Mandarin’ project
She will continue her postgraduate study in Beijing after completing the work in Southampton.
