From 25 February to 27 March 2019, Itinerant Objects was tested in the Winchester Gallery at Winchester School of Art, prior to being transported to Tate Exchange in early April. The beta testing gave WSA students and staff a chance to fully participate, to move objects and reflect upon new relationships created. Importantly, this extended project generated a wide range of objects that were then taken to Tate to kick off the Itinerant Objects programme there .
Trinity Winchester offered workshop collaborations on Mondays throughout the period; SLIP was rolled out and ran throughout the period; new digital alliances were made through the Messy Assemblages 3D scanning workshop; and Neja Tomšič performed her piece Tea for Five . It also provided an opportunity for Fashion and Textiles students to trial their World of Boro textile re-use project, and for the Bad Poets Group to run their creative writing residency. The programme in the Winchester Gallery culminated in a symposium, The Winter Tree: Neuro Art in the UK , organised by WSA Fine Art Lecturer Andrew Carnie.
