International Women's Day is celebrated every year on 8 March. Thousands of events are held throughout the world both to inspire women and celebrate achievements. The University of Southampton is pleased to again host a week-long programme of activities to mark this special event.
In 2015, International Women's Week (IWW) will span Monday 9 to Friday 13 March . Some activities are being held during the week following.
All IWW events are open to both students and staff at the University, to both women and men, and are free of charge unless stated otherwise. After some events, there will be a voluntary collection for Southampton Women's Aid.

Make It Happen is the 2015 theme for the internationalwomensday.com global hub, encouraging effective action for advancing and recognising women.
For 2015, many of our events will again be actively supporting Southampton Women's Aid . You may also see collection buckets around the campus.
Since last year's Week, SWA have offered practical, holistic, non-judgmental support to hundreds of women from all backgrounds.
There are also specialist Children and Youth workers.
The Survivor's Handbook provides advice on keeping safe, legal rights and much more. It's available in English and other community languages, and both text and audio formats.
Please help to support this valuable local and national service.
You can book a place for many of these events beforehand, generally through Eventbrite.
