Miss Sophie Hart Psychology BSc (Hons)
Experimental Research Technician
Sophie is an Experimental Research Technician within the Human Factors Engineering group within the faculty of Engineering and Physical Sciences at the University of Southampton.
She graduated from the University of Southampton in 2020 with a BSc in Psychology. During her studies Sophie completed a Voluntary Research Placement on the cross-cultural effects of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.
After finishing her final year at university in June 2020, Sophie started working full-time with the Transportation Research Group on the CoMTET (Command Team Experimental Test-Bed) project that is funded by the Defence Science Technology Laboratory. CoMTET is a full-size model of a submarine control room built with command posts and computer simulations. It was built to perform novel research into submarine command team socio-technical networks and is one of the only research facilities of its kind in the United Kingdom. Current research looks to provide evidence-based recommendations for change to optimise the design and operation of future submarine control rooms. A press release can be found here .
