University of Southampton visits Shanghai University of Finance and Economics

On the afternoon of 13th March, a delegation for the University of Southampton visited Shanghai University of Finance and Economics (SUFE) and received a warm welcome by Xu Tao, Party Secretary, and Yao Lingzhen, Vice-President.

The UoS delegation included: Alex Neill, Vice-President of Education; Mr. Kieron Broadhead, Executive Director of Student Experience; Ms. Alex Bonczoszek, Associate Director of International Student Recruitment; and Ms. Song Pan Utz, Senior Manager of Faculty International Office of Social Sciences.

The visit commenced with Xu Tao speaking of the international achievements of SUFE in recent years in terms of personnel training, scientific research cooperation, and industry-university-research linkages. VP Alex Neil stated that the cooperation between the two universities is of great value and hopes that both universities will further enhance the partnership by collaborating in more areas including research and education in the future.

The delegates later discussed the cooperation and exchanges between the two universities in the past 20 years. The two sides conducted in-depth discussions on the forms and contents of cooperation in the areas of student exchange, master's degree program, and academic exchange. They look forward to continuing to strengthen this partnership.
