As part of the Multidisciplinary Research Week 2012

What can a writer learn from a scientist? Why would a poet visit a high-voltage lab?
The Litmus Project answers these questions. Come and meet science post-graduates from Faculties throughout the university and creative writers from the University of Southampton Creative Writing MA who will jointly present results illuminating Complexity modelling and imaging; Genetic adaptation to rising CO2 levels in plants; The nature of biological individuality; How life on Earth went from simple physical/chemical systems to biological systems ; Numerical modelling of wave resistance; The human sensation of discomfort caused by vibration and noise in cars, trains and airplanes; Voice, following cochlear implantation; Photonics; and High voltage electricity.
