Event details

This project, led by the University of Southampton, arranges for final year Modern Languages students to return to their previous school or college to talk about studying languages and the advantages of including a year abroad in a degree programme.

In the case of younger year groups (e.g. Years 9-10), talks are normally delivered in English. For older groups (e.g. Years 11-13), students may, in agreement with teachers,  deliver part or all of their session in the language of the country where they spent their year abroad, or in one of the other languages they are studying for their degree.
If you are a teacher working in a school or college with a former student studying Modern Languages at Southampton, please contact us to see if we can arrange a visit from your former student. As Final year Modern Languages students at Southampton are being encouraged to contact their former schools and colleges themselves, don't be surprised either if you receive an email or call from a former student offering to come and inspire your current cohort!

If you are a languages teacher and would like one of your former students to visit, or you are a final year students enquiring about doing a visit, please get in touch with Zena Hilton at the University of Southampton.
