Event details

A workshop in the Philosophy of Perception.

As part of a series of events in the philosophy of perception, the University of Southampton will host a workshop on feature seeing.

While it is commonly accepted that we can be visually related to objects in our environment, securing perceptual knowledge by looking requires an awareness of objects' features - their colour and shape, for example. What is it to see an object's feature? What explanatory role can our visual awareness of objects' features play in an account of visual perceptual knowledge?

Speakers:

Professor Bill Brewer (KCL)

Professor Alan Millar (Stirling)

Dr Laura Gow (Cambridge)

Dr Will McNeill (Southampton)

The workshop will be followed by a dinner.

Attendance is free but please register your interest by emailing Dr Will McNeill.
